WE TELL THE STORY OF OUR REGION THROUGH OUR CREATIONS: COLORS, FLAVORS,
SCENTS, STORIES, AND LOCAL CRAFTSMANSHIP.

AND WE BRING THEM TO ITALIAN AND GLOBAL TABLES

Our liqueurs are a piece of history of the culture and the territory of Campania. We start from the Amalfi Coast and tell the story of its icons: lemons, scents, citrus fruits, produce, faces, flavors, and we draw inspiration from the colors of Vietri ceramics, revisiting their geometries and icons, such as the century-old “ciucciariello,” to tell their stories on our labels

Everything you need to know about Russo Distillers

Russo 1899 is a craft distillery from the Campania region, established in 1899 in Ischia, with over 125 years of tradition in the production of liqueurs, spirits, and cordials. Today, the company is based in San Severino (Salerno) and is led by the third generation of the Russo family: Vincenzo (Sole Director), Guglielmo (Operations Manager), and Valentina (Administration).

We produce over 20 products, including Amalfi limoncello, shrubs, alchermes, grappa, gin, amari, and the innovative Campus Alchemist Line (developed with the University of Salerno). We are ISO 9001 and IFS certified for quality and food safety.

Why choose Russo 1899?

  • Traditional recipes since 1899

  • Certified laboratory with HPLC/GC-MS analysis
  • No artificial colors or preservatives
  • Short and sustainable supply chain (zero-waste Campus Line)

Our distillery is located in San Severino, in the province of Salerno, Campania. Founded in Ischia in 1899, we moved to the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese area in the 1970s to expand production, while maintaining our connection to the traditions of the island and the Amalfi Coast.

Yes! Sustainability and quality have been the pillars of our work since 1899.

Circular Economy (Campus Line):

  • Zero waste: We repurpose peels, leaves, seeds, and cores ("discarded" parts of the Campanian agricultural supply chain)
  • UNISA Collaboration: Scientific validation that these "noble scraps" have the same nutritional/organoleptic value as the "prized" parts
  • Short supply chain: Raw materials sourced within 50km of the distillery (Paestum, Auletta, Agro Nocerino-Sarnese)

Zero Impact:

  • Energy from renewable sources (solar panels at the distillery)
  • Recyclable packaging: 100% recyclable glass bottles, FSC paper labels, recycled cardboard
  • Reduced transport: Direct online sales = fewer intermediaries = less CO₂

Certifications:

  • ISO 9001 (quality)
  • IFS Food (safety and traceability)
  • UNISA partnership for sustainability research

Acting Green (not just "Thinking Green"):

  • Recovery of production process water
  • Composting of organic waste
  • Donation of post-infusion peels to local gelato shops (lemon sorbets!)

💡 Each Campus Alchemist bottle = 200g of noble scraps recovered = 1kg of CO₂ avoided.
